mySpot | Unplanned trip to Legazpi City, Albay

Cagsawa Ruins (during cloudy day)Daraga Church, Daraga Albay
I've always wanted to see Mayon Volcano as close as possible and get a post-card photo myself, but I didn't think I'd see it sooner than expected.

Two weeks ago, I received an invitation from a friend to go on a trip to Legazpi, Albay and see the whalesharks in Donsol. Without hesitation (but just a few questions) I said Yes!
However, due to unforeseen circumstances, I ended up traveling solo for four days in Legazpi. Haha!
I stayed in Mayon Backpacker's Hostel in Legazpi which saved me a lot of money...

mySpot | Kalinga Trip 2013 - Inspiring Journey

A few weeks before the holy week, I received an invite from a friend asking me to come with her on a trip to Kalinga. Without even checking where exactly to go or what to expect, I said yes told her that I'm okay with it.

A few days before trip, I browsed some of the stuffs from the blogs on the internet but I really didn't paid much attention. I just want it to be surprising.

We took an 8-hour bus ride (not sure if it was longer due to traffic) to Banaue. Then from Banaue, it was an hour or more going to Bontoc. I'm not sure if it was the last trip but we took a jeepney ride from there going to Tinglayan. I guess it was the longest three-hour-ride I had since I wasn't sitting comfortably going there but instead I was standing, hanging on the edge of the jeep under the burning heat of the sun.

We arrived late in the afternoon so our tour guide decided not to push through going to Buscalan since it would get dark very soon. He said it might be dangerous. Instead, stayed overnight in Tinglayan. We decided to go and swim to the river and on our way back, we drank coffee on someone's house. It was very sweet. Perfect drink for the weather.

We woke up early next morning and prepared to trek to Buscalan, the place where Fang-od lives. We got on a jeepney going up there and then trekked for more than an hour (with our bags.. heavy bags).

I won't get into much details on what happened there as it was pretty much awesome. We met the locals, others got their tattoos, I took a lot of photos, met new people and friends, enjoyed the view and other stuffs too.

mySpot | Cebu - Dumaguete - Siaton - Giligaon 2013

My mom and dad has been planning this trip so long ago. Though we had cancelled booked flights to Cagayan De Oro twice already, either due to bad weather, schedule conflicts and financial issues.. but most of the time, it's the bad weather... lols... Anyway, finally, we were able to make it.

We planned this trip to Dumaguete since late last year to visit my father's relatives and siblings in Dumaguete. I really don't know why I booked our flight to Cebu, but then we still found a way to get there.

Our six-days vacation was tiring yet awesome and most of it were spent on road travelling.

mySpot | Nature Tripping - Trip to Leyte 2012

Last week, I went to visit our province in Abuyog Leyte. The last time I've been here was about three years ago with my family and this is my first time to go alone.

Thanks to my titos and titas, I am able to visit different places here. Of course, I enjoyed taking photos of the scenery and some other stuffs.

You can check out more of my photos on my facebook page. :)

mySpot | Palawan Trip [2011] + Birthday Celebration

I've been here before... Same place, same spots, same hotel, same food but the only difference is the people I was with. This is my second time to visit Palawan (Puerto Princesa to be specific) and things just became more exciting.

This time i brought an underwater camera (thank you Loren Lloyd).. and i really enjoyed taking photos of fishes, corals and other stuffs down there... It was pretty awesome... And also, how can i forget how i panicked under water when I saw a small jelly fish.. (but still i got a photo of that jelly fish).. and freaked out after seeing a triggerfish (which i thought was a stonefish)... t'was fun though...

And speaking of picture taking, This time was my first time to travel on a long trip capturing less than 1000 shots for the whole trip... I don't know. The last time I was here I took 1000+ shots per day. Maybe I just enjoyed too much that I forgot to take more photos... (or maybe because i have no extra battery and i'm trying to avoid to use flash too much)

This is also my first time to celebrate my birthday far away from home.. Yeah you heard it right... First time... In 24 years... Lolz... And I was like celebrating my birthday by taking pictures under the sea... :p

mySpot | A new hobby

Since the first time I touched a camera, I found the love for photography. I'm not a professional photographer or something.. It's just like I like taking pictures, whether it's a digital camera or the old ones which used films, i just love taking pictures.

I can still remember when I was just in high school, I used to spend a lot in buying films and printing photos. I'm not sure what was the reason but I just love taking photos. It is when during my college years, we had this photography subject that I realized that this thing is so good for me. Thanks to my photography teacher (Sir Jayson Ching) that he taught us something about it and we liked it.

Since then, it become important to me that taking pictures is like stopping time for a while and putting the happy memories into a paper on which someday you will look at it and remember the old times. (sigh!)

I'm still learning photography and I take it as one of my personal hobbies during my free time. I don't know. I hope you like it too...

Till here, ciao!

Favorite Photo #1: Sunlight over Cathy
Model: Catherine Anne Macatulad
Location: Lucban, Quezon
Camera: Canon EOS450D

I still used the same setting for this picture. The macro setting of the camera makes my photo different. With a slight tilted angle plus the full green blurred background centers the focus to the model. This was taken in the "kamay ni hesus" grotto in Lucban Quezon. We were resting in one of the gazebo, and took some pictures... the sunlight above added a special effect to the photo which makes it something like a billboard photo for Kashieca, or something like a model of a female-clothing line something like that...

Favorite Photo #1: Apple in the window
Model: Meropil Apple Mandia
Location: Lucban, Quezon
Camera: Canon EOS450D

For this photo, i used the macro setting of the camera... I don't know.. I just liked the macro setting in taking portrait shots. Well, the image is good.

This is my friend, Apple. We went to Lucban Quezon last May 2009 to witness the Pahiyas Festival in Lucban Quezon. We were resting in one of my friend's house. I went to the other room and looked outside the window. Then, I saw it has a beautiful view outside so I told her to do that pose and smile. Then there it is.
