mySpot | Davao - Surigao del Sur Trip 2013

La Entrada Beach Resort, San Agustin, Surigao del Sur
If there's one thing I learned on this recent trip that I had with a few friends, it's that your itineraries should be flexible and interchangeable if possible.

Me and my friends went to Davao and Surigao del Sur to check out some jaw-dropping spots in Davao and Surigao del Sur. Also, it was my first couchsurfing experience.

We (they) already had planned our activities ahead of time, though I arrived earlier to spend a few days in Davao City (that explains Day -1 and Day 0 on the itinerary). Unfortunately we missed our bus and suddenly everything changed (except the destinations)...

Good thing we have a GPS-enabled phones, a few contacts on some places, and just enough pocket money to move from one place to another. It was pretty hard at first but the experience and the adventure was priceless.

mySpot | Cebu - Dumaguete - Siaton - Giligaon 2013

My mom and dad has been planning this trip so long ago. Though we had cancelled booked flights to Cagayan De Oro twice already, either due to bad weather, schedule conflicts and financial issues.. but most of the time, it's the bad weather... lols... Anyway, finally, we were able to make it.

We planned this trip to Dumaguete since late last year to visit my father's relatives and siblings in Dumaguete. I really don't know why I booked our flight to Cebu, but then we still found a way to get there.

Our six-days vacation was tiring yet awesome and most of it were spent on road travelling.

mySpot | Sagada Trip 2012 - When Blue meets Green

To end the list of my out-of-town vacations this year, Me and a few friends went to visit Sagada up north in the Mountain Province.

A whooping 11-hour bus ride (6 hours from Manila to Baguio and 5 hours from Baguio to Sagada) to get there and experience the beauty of nature far (very far) away from the city and relax and enjoy the once-in-a-lifetime adventure. But don't worry about the travel duration, you'll pretty much enjoy the scenic view from the bus so you might wanna sit on the window side.

And how's the weather in Sagada? Amazing! If you're used to the hot weather in the cities of the Philippines, things are way different up there. Cold breeze, quiet streets, cold breeze (again?), and don't forget the view, sunflowers everywhere.

We stayed at Misty Lodge Hotel just 10-minutes from the town-proper. (Though according to my sports-tracker, it took us 20 minutes normal healthy-walk from the town proper to our hotel... but still we had a nice enjoyable moment walking there). It was a great place to stay. They have their own fireplace, nice interior, great food, and to sum it up, it's pretty much awesome!

We also took the different adventures Sagada has to offer. Cave connection, we did spelunking, rappeling, trekking, and a lot of walking. I did noticed that I lost some weight when I got back home. Anyway, it was really great to be there. We also went to some big falls and smaller falls, and the rice terraces, and the hanging coffins, and whew.. there are still a lot on the list... Better check it yourself.

mySpot | Agas Agas Bridge (Tallest Bridge in Philippines) and Zipline

One of the highlights in my Leyte Vacation was that overwhelming (skin-burning) whole day motor cycle tour to the southern part of Leyte. And thanks to my Nanay Luz for bringing me to what they say now as The Longest Zip Line in the Philippines on the tallest bridge which is also in the country.

We started our journey in Abuyog riding a single motorcycle going to Silago. Then to Hinunangan, San Juan, passed thru the mountains of St. Bernard, going up to Sogod, then we reached the Agas Agas Bridge where the zip line is located. Check the map screen shot below for the route.
Of course we had a few (actually, there were plenty) stop overs and we have to refill the gas and we have to rest also. Once we got there, it was in the middle of the mountainous regions of Sogod, Leyte.

Before you can go try out the zip line (and the cable car), you have to pay Php 5.00 (five) pesos for the entrance fee (what?!)  And then ticket for the zip line was about (darn, I forgot) 150 or 200 Pesos per ride.

mySpot | Nature Tripping - Trip to Leyte 2012

Last week, I went to visit our province in Abuyog Leyte. The last time I've been here was about three years ago with my family and this is my first time to go alone.

Thanks to my titos and titas, I am able to visit different places here. Of course, I enjoyed taking photos of the scenery and some other stuffs.

You can check out more of my photos on my facebook page. :)

mySpot | Bangkok Trip 2012 [part 2] - A Trip to Ayutthaya

One of the highlights on my Bangkok Vacation is going to Ayutthaya, a city in Thailand, somewhere north of Bangkok. This old city also has a lot of historical parks.

Going there was also challenging too since I am not familiar with the place and the language and I only have a printed instruction on how to get there plus GPS on my phone.

There are several ways to get there.. I almost got lost trying one of them but I think this one is the best way to reach Ayutthaya City. From Bangkok, go to the Victory Monument and the station where mini vans are parked... (somewhere north east part if you are holding a map). These mini vans go straight directly to Ayutthaya though it has a few stopovers along the way, don't worry because your destination is the last stop. I paid around 60 Baht.

mySpot | Bangkok Trip 2012 [part 1]

When you ask me what are the places that I wanted to visit, Bangkok would probably be on the last of my list... Maybe because of the movies that I watch or from the stories that I heard.

Well I don't know what happened but it seems my perspective about Bangkok changed.

Last June 5, I went to visit Bangkok for vacation... It was a challenging vacation because I know I'm going to a place where people speaks a different language... They speak English too but I really don't know what happened to my tongue and ears... lols...

Well it was kinda similar to where I live except for the different fonts (lols) on posters, billboards and ads... plus the weather is too hot... The food is great and the people are very friendly...  I was also able to ride tuktuk, and the motorcyle ride was a little bit dangerous driving around the high way, but it was awesome!

And did I forget to mention I went there by myself... Yes... forever alone.. lols.. that's why it was kinda difficult but still I enjoyed.

mySpot | Coron Palawan 2011 Trip

I thought it was only just a dream. After visiting the beautiful place of Coron, Palawan, now I wanted to go back there again.

In just 4 days, we enjoyed the breathtaking views of Coron and wonderful islands during our trip.

I've been in Puerto Princesa too and although both are in Palawan, there's a very big difference between the two. PPS is more like commercialized than Coron, which makes me like Coron more...

For nature lovers, you can have your best times to be spent here... Watch the sunset at the top of Mt. Tapyas... Relax in Maquinit hot spring... Eat fresh sea foods and enjoy the place... You can also do diving at the shipwrecks and enjoy the view underwater.. Don't forget the camera so you won't miss anything...

Now I really don't know what to write here.. I can't describe it in words.. You just have to see it for yourself and enjoy.. I already have plans of getting back in here... Maybe that time, i'll try diving... and more other stuffs we missed during our 4-day adventure in Coron...

More pics can be found on my facebook albums... just sharing some here...

mySpot | Boracay Trip 2011

Ok... I should have written this post while I was still there. That's why i brought a laptop with me so that i could sit in front of the beach and write this blog entry.

Anyway, ok.. finally, i was able to set my foot to this place I always wanted to go. And all I can say is that the place is so beautiful, great view, nice beaches.. Perfect vacation destination... Oh yeah.

And oh! By the way, before I forgot, I came here alone... yup.. only me and no one else... and what's interesting is that this is my first time to visit the place and also my first time to travel alone.. oh well.. I did survive the trip...

It didn't bother me whether I walk alone in the white beach or eat meals by myself 'coz I'm used it to it. and besides, i just came here to take pictures and spend some time alone... lols...

The place is so filled with foreigners, and most of them are Koreans. And while I was there, I thought I was somewhere else like in Jeju Island and felt like a stranger in my own country. But it was ok. It's like a practice if ever i decided to go international.. :p

Oh well, I don't have anything else to say in here... to sum it up, i enjoyed, i took pictures, i had fun, i met new people, the experience is awesome... and like i always say, i'm definitely going back to this place too...

should you want to see my photos, you might wanna check out my fb albums... thanks!

mySpot | Puerto Galera Summer Getaway

It's summer time!!! An one of the things we usually do during these times is go on a vacation trip, swimming, and a lot more things to do...

Last weekend, Finally!!!, I made my first visit to the famous Puerto Galera - one of the hottest (not the temperature) summer destinations in the country. Yes! I was there over the weekend...

Oh well, I got excited, of course, who wouldn't be.. But i was kinda disappointed when I saw the place... A lot of establishments were in place and it's kinda ruining the beauty of the place... But i did enjoy...

It was an another opportunity for me to shoot places, things and people... I just love taking pictures... And once again, my favorite subject.. my usual photo subjects, the boats... that's the only thing I saw there.. well not really, but i enjoyed taking pics from those boats...

I also tried again riding the banana boat.. It's an all-time favorite activity... Unfortunately I wasn't able to do the snorkeling thing due to limited time there but I know I'll be back..

I tried practicing long-exposure shots at night but then I got bored 'coz i saw a lot of parties happening everywhere... I can say this is gonna be one of the best short-time vacation trips I ever had...

I do have more photos on my fb account... I'm just going to share some of the shots I liked from my set... I promised myself I'll be back again on this place... soon.. maybe after i fixed my schedule.. Still have a lot of places to visit.. I want to try diving too...
